Pioneering Research in Protective Technologies and Nutritional Science

Our research focus

We study the molecular conversation between legumes and denim so personal protective wear can keep its composure under dietary load.

The beans-and-jeans problem

Most laboratories specialize. We refused. Comfort is an interdisciplinary event: nutrition loads the system, textiles absorb the consequence. The work is quiet, methodical, and occasionally classified until the dry-clean cycle completes.

Investigators

Dr. Marigold Denim

Principal Investigator, Textile Physics

Twenty years in high-stress weave analysis. Holds the Stain Chair in Protective Comfort.

Dr. Casimir Bean

Lead, Dietary Impact

Quantifies legume load with the calm of a man who has seen the data and bought extra denim.

Dr. Rowan Stain

Director Emeritus

Founded the lab after a 1997 chili cook-off that remains under embargo. Still consults on protocol.
